The Debrief broke a powerful story on the Department of Defense’s effort to study unidentified aerial phenomena through the “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force.” The mission of the task force, approved by Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist, is “to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.” The DeBrief’s reporting showed that the UAPTF had briefed elected officials, members of the intelligence community and U.S. military leaders on unexplained encounters with craft that far transcend the capabilities of our technology. The piece addresses two widely shared, classified intelligence reports on the matter that feature strong photographic evidence of UAP with the suggestion that they are operated by “intelligences of unknown origin.” Transmedium travel, in air and under water, is discussed as a featured capability of the craft.

In the early morning, she noticed a “pink cloud” outside that “rose and shifted toward the church steeple. Then I saw these white balls of light. They were spinning like a carousel in the cloud.” Océane took photos and video and connected to Dr. Jacques Vallee, who investigated the sighting.

The Debrief writes about the United States Defense Intelligence Agency’s 2008 payment of $22 million to Robert Bigelow’s Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies. The funding was intended to support the study of “breakthrough technologies” and UFOs. The Debrief obtained unredacted internal documents that demonstrated the unusual focus of the secret program. Prompted by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada), the DIA funded the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program to explore “potential breakthrough technology applications employed in future aerospace weapon systems.”
