The Debrief broke a powerful story on the Department of Defense’s effort to study unidentified aerial phenomena through the “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force.” The mission of the task force, approved by Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist, is “to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.” The DeBrief’s reporting showed that the UAPTF had briefed elected officials, members of the intelligence community and U.S. military leaders on unexplained encounters with craft that far transcend the capabilities of our technology. The piece addresses two widely shared, classified intelligence reports on the matter that feature strong photographic evidence of UAP with the suggestion that they are operated by “intelligences of unknown origin.” Transmedium travel, in air and under water, is discussed as a featured capability of the craft.
